Trip to Jammu and Kashmir

Wandering Through the Paradise – My Trip to Srinagar

There are some places that don’t just stay in your memories—they stay in your heart. For me, Srinagar is now one of them.

As our plane began descending into the Kashmir Valley, I caught my first glimpse of the snow-dusted peaks and

winding rivers—it felt like stepping into a painting. Srinagar greeted me with a chilly breeze and a warm charm that was both comforting and exciting.

Dal Lake – The Soul of Srinagar

My first stop was Dal Lake, and I honestly can’t put into words how peaceful it felt to glide across the still water in a shikara. The reflection of the sky on the lake, the floating gardens, and the vibrant houseboats made it feel surreal. I spent hours just sitting back, watching life float by—vendors selling saffron and handicrafts from their little boats, kids waving from the shore, and that golden sunset… unforgettable.

Mughal Gardens & Hidden Corners

I visited the famous Mughal Gardens—Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh—and was blown away by their symmetry and the view of the lake from the terraced lawns. The combination of flowers in bloom and the snow-capped mountains in the background looked like something out of a dream.

But honestly, some of my favorite moments came from wandering through the quieter lanes, stumbling upon small tea shops and chatting with friendly locals. One elderly man even invited me in for a cup of kahwa (a local spiced tea)—a moment I’ll always treasure.

The Taste of Kashmir

The food in Srinagar? Incredible. I tried the famous rogan josh, yakhni, and of course, gushtaba. Every bite was rich, flavorful, and comforting. And the traditional wazwan feast is a must-try if you ever visit.

A City Wrapped in Stillness and Stories

Srinagar has a certain stillness, even with the bustle of local life. It's peaceful, yet filled with stories in every corner—some in the architecture, some in the people, and many in the quiet mountains that surround the city.

This trip wasn’t just a break from routine—it was a pause, a deep breath, and a reminder that beauty and kindness exist in abundance if we know where to look.
